Capturing hope on camera since 2024

What does hope mean to you? Initially serving as a research project that aimed to find out what such a common term meant to people, the video compilation ended up serving as an initiative for hope itself.

Inspired by the TV show, video diaries, I wanted to put people at the forefront. Minimal prompts and interruption, respondents had the freedom and space to respond naturally and candidly, whilst offering respite from people's worries and stresses. Ultimately, I wanted to promote positive discussion and thinking, by using the inherent optimism of the term 'hope', creating a balance between the inevitable dreariness of day to day experiences, by focusing on the good parts of life
